I am assuming that is not necessary to have the data structured like
"lynxjura", right?
No, no need: these data are stored in this way to allow their storage as
a dataset.
This means that is possible to have the locations in one file and
the raster data in another file, is that correct?
Yes, this is correct,

Dear Manuel,
I am trying to use adehabitat for some habitat selection analysis
and I am running some of the examples from adehabitatHS and
adehabitatMA (the new packages), but how to start from scratch
importing your own data? I am familiar with R but not with spatial
analysis in R.
What are the ways to bring your own spatial data to work on adehabitat?
Actually, because the new packages are now compliant with the package
sp. The best way to import your spatial data is to use the functions
of the packages sp and maptools. The particular function to be used
depends on the data available to you. If you have an asc file storing
raster data, you can use readAsciiGrid from the package maptools.
Otherwise, have a look at the help pages from the functions returned by:
apropos("readShape")
