Dear Colleagues, AFRINIC is issuing a call for proposals to Governmental Institutions, Civil Society and Private Sector Organisations willing to host the AFRINIC-19 Public Policy Meeting from 23 to 29 November 2013.
Our events represent an important platform for the Internet community to discuss policies and issues that are relevant for the African region. These events also offer a prime opportunity to share knowledge and experiences in network operations. As you may know, the majority of attendees are technical decision makers from ISPs, telcos, regulatory bodies and network operators in the African region. Hosting such events raises public awareness on the country as well as contributes to the service of our whole Internet community. The local meeting hosts thus receive optimum exposure being associated with such events and particularly in collaboration with AFRINIC, being a key player in IP address distribution and Internet development in the region. Upon selection, a site visit to the hosting country will be coordinated, within the meeting year, to finalise all details regarding the hosting of the AFRINIC meeting. Detailed guidelines for interested parties including the hosting requirements and budget information can be found at: http://www.afrinic.net/index.php/en/community/afrinic-events Please submit your proposal for AFRINIC-19 on or before 31 December 2012. Please feel free to contact the AFRINIC meeting team should you require any additional information or for any inquiries at <[email protected]>.
