The Network Information & Infrastructure (NI&I) Service Award seeks to recognise and reward individuals and organisations for providing Internetworking services and Infrastructure in Africa. The NI&I Service Award celebrates excellence and commitment to African and the Indian Ocean region development and seeks to recognise and reward the next generation of heroes and models from the Internet technical community for their achievements.

The fifth NI&I Service Award Ceremony will be held at the Africa Internet Summit in Lusaka, Zambia. The award ceremony will be held on 19 June 2013.

The call for nominations is now open for the following categories: 

1. NI&I Award

2. NI&I Young Professional Award

If you know someone or an organisation you believe deserves the award because of their commitment to the development of Internetworking services and Infrastructure in Africa, please send us your nomination by filling the form at:

- 1 Day left to apply for an AFRINIC-18 Fellowship. Want to join the prestigious AFRINIC fellowship programme? This is the moment to do it. This will enable you to travel to Lusaka, Zambia,     for the AFRINIC-18 meeting in Lusaka, Zambia, from 15 to 21 June 2013.

The fellowship is reserved for individuals representing small organisations, universities, and media who are actively involved in Internet operations and development or ICT policy in their countries and respective communities. The fellow is expected to positively and actively contribute to IP address management awareness in the AFRINIC service region.


To qualify for the fellowship, you:

    should be a resident of Africa;
    must not necessarily be an AFRINIC member;
    should have a technical (IT, Computer Science) background;
    have not benefited from previous AFRINIC fellowships;
    are willing to report on how this fellowship has benefited you/your organisation/country.

Upon selection of the fellows, AFRINIC will notify the selected fellows directly and allow the fellows seven (7) days to accept or reject the offer. A public announcement of the fellowship winners will be made after the acceptance by the winners.
