Beta 1 of the Jakarta 3.1 release is now available at http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/tomcat/release/v3.1_beta_1/ .
In addition to continuing supporting the latest servlet and JSP specifications, this release contains a number of improvements over the Tomcat 3.0 release: * Servlet Reloading for servlets found in the WEB-INF dirs * Logging * ISAPI and NSAPI integration * Minimal Admin/Deployment Tool * Minimal security implementation * A Command line JSP to Servlet Code tool * Many, many bugs were fixed. * Greater platform / JVM level coverage * Internal APIs were changed for flexibility and integration * The source code was cleaned and reorganized * Most non-essential code was moved out of tomcat.core Please help us make this the best release of Tomcat ever by downloading it, trying it out, reporting bugs and/or patches, or helping in any way you can. Our current target for final release is April 7th. - Sam Ruby
