Friends, For those of you who missed it, another one of John Stossel's excellent 20/20 segments appeared on ABC last night at 10:00. It was a special about the bailout. Parts of it are available now at <http://abcnews.go.com>http://ABCNws.go.com. At the right, there is a Watch Videos section, including a link to the segment on a man's federal sentence of 100 years in jail for "dealing" medical marijuana. Click that link, watch the unavoidable commercial, then watch the medical marijuana segment. That shows a playlist across the bottom, which includes another video called The Big Bad Bailout (you may want to skip ahead, unless you want to watch Michelle Obama on being a working mom). If you want to see it, do it now -- it is certain these links are changed regularly and thus in a week or so you shouldn't expect them to be there any longer. Indeed most of the segments are based on videos from Reason.TV. Stossel describes the program as a look at the conceit of the ruling class. Segments: 1) The huge bailout: President Obama has said, "Economists from across the spectrum have warned that if we don't act immediately, our nation will sink into a crisis." But more than 300 economists say the stimulus spending does more harm than good. I interview some of them and confront Majority Leader Steny Hoyer about why the politicians believe they can spend $300 million of American's money better than we can. 2) War on the middle class: President Obama says, "Middle-class families are struggling." But don't believe the doom and gloom, wages and living standards have been on the rise for all Americans since the 1950s. 3) Universal Pre-K: President Obama says, "We need to enroll more children, and we need to start at an even earlier age." That Obama campaign promise sounded wonderful: Let's help sweet little preschoolers get a strong start in school. But should that be the job of our government? 4) Our border control: Will a giant wall across part of the Mexican border really secure our country? So far, the bad guys just go around the wall or climb over it or cut holes in it. 5) Private highways: Traffic on your morning commute is only going to get worse.
