Dear colleagues:
I hope all is well with you. As you are probably aware, the
Libertarian Party of Virginia is conducting a petition drive to place
the Libertarian Party presidential ticket on the Virginia ballot this
fall. To accomplish this, we must submit the signatures of at least
10,000 registered Virginia voters to the State Board of Elections no
later than noon on August 24; we must submit at least 400 signatures
from each of Virginia's eleven congressional districts.
The Republican primary will take place tomorrow (Tuesday, March 6)
at polling stations throughout Virginia. This presents us with an
excellent opportunity to gather signatures. People who gather
signatures at local polling stations should be able to gather a large
number of signatures in relatively little time. In addition,
signatures obtained at polling stations are likely to have a 100%
validity rate (that is, all who sign the petition will be registered
to vote).
Our petition drive webpage is available at
http://lpva.com/html/2012PetitionDrive.php; it provides information
about the drive. In particular, one may obtain petition forms in both
letter-size and legal-size formats, as well as instructions about
circulating the petitions. If you wish to gather signatures, please
read the instructions concerning the petitioning process before doing
so. The instructions are not difficult to understand, but they must
be followed in order for the signatures to be valid.
