1. CANDIDATES 2012: Justin Malkin Qualifies!

We are pleased to announce that Justin Malkin, a Libertarian Party member and
resident of old town Alexandria, has thrown his hat in the ring for a House of
Delegates seat recently vacated by Democrat David Englin. See his campaign

On August 7, Malkin received confirmation that his petition was sufficient and
his name will be on the ballot. Malkin acknowledged his petitioning team (Matt
Cholko, Laura Delhomme, Jim Lark, Robert Kraus, Chris Brookover, and many
others) for helping him get on the ballot.
Justin and his helpers have been concentrating on getting him on the ballot,
but he does have a campaign donation page ready:

2. CANDIDATES 2012: Robert Kraus Qualifies!

We are pleased to announce that Robert Kraus, a Libertarian Party member and
resident of old town Alexandria, is seeking a seat on the Alexandria City
Council.

Robert has received confirmation that his petition was sufficient and his name
will be on the ballot.
Robert mentioned a few of his goals in a letter to some of his associates in
June.

3. Gary Johnson - Virginia Campaign Report

Until now, the Virginia campaign for Gary Johnson has lately been concentrating
on petitioning activities. Last Friday, the State Board of Elections informed
us that the petitioning for Gary Johnson has passed the threshold required for
ballot status!
A visit from Governor Johnson to the DC area last month energized activists and
resulted in numerous news interviews for the candidate.
Judge Jim Gray has a tentative stop in Virginia planned in mid-September during
his Eastern coast swing. Upcoming outreach events by volunteers include:
Aug. 18-19 Roanoke Gun Show
Sept. 15 Boones Mill Apple Festival
Sept. 16 Roanoke Pride in the Park
Sept. 22-23 Salem Gun Show
