Dear Libertarian Colleagues, Certainly many of you are familiar with our Events page:
http://lpva.com/Calendar/events08.asp This page sends reminders to the statewide and area announcements email lists a couple of days before each event. The vast majority of the listings on this page are added by myself or Jim Lark. However, there are now so many meetings that it's become difficult for us to keep up with them all, especially since both Jim and I wear other LP hats. I'm seeking a volunteer who would be dedicated to this ONE activity: keeping the Events page properly updated. Having a well-kept Calendar with a large variety of events all over the state will help new Libertarians find activities in their local area that appeal to them. People stick around when they have a chance to meet other Libertarians nearby, because they make new friends who understand their political concerns. Let's help them make that connection! I'd prefer someone who is not currently involved in other LP activities, so they can concentrate on this one task. The volunteer will be responsible for adding, editing, updating, or canceling events as needed. Of course, there are a few local activists who take care of their own local activities, but in many localities no one has stepped up to do this. We need one well-organized person willing to fill the gaps. The volunteer should be willing to check email at least daily, especially as election activities get rolling. I will forward notices of local meetings to the volunteer, and the volunteer will be responsible for checking to see if the event is already on the Calendar, and if it needs to be added or edited, to go ahead and take care of it. A login and password will be assigned to you so you can edit the page. If you're interested in this job, please reply and let's get you started. <mailto:[email protected]?Subject=Volunteer_For_Calendar> Thank you for your consideration!
