Hi Cor,
I am not sure about the correct discussion place either. Maybe the
task itself?
Anyway -
- for me it looks as an advantange over the competition(1), if the
functions Next Slide and Previous Slide can be used with a key command
as well. If only it be a single one.
We will add Alt-PageUp/Down to jumpt to the prev/next slide by skipping
all effects. Hope this meets you expectations.
- The key-command BackSpace will transit from End Slide Show to
eventually Previous Effect (OOo Future). IMO it doesn't make things more
clear (for the user) if this transistion is via 2.0.3.
Some users are used to the keybinfings of the competition. A Backsapce
in PowerPoint does PREVIOUS EFFECT. In OOo it breaks out of the running
slide show. Just imagine the surprise if you are used to BS and get the
edit mode of the presentation. A bad user experience during the
presentation session is the result. That's the reason why I proposed
(and specidied) a new behaviour for BackSpace.
kind regards
Matthias

Title : Controlling Slide Show
Location:
http://specs.openoffice.org/impress/slideshow/ControllingSlideShow.odt
Status : preliminarey for OOo 2.0.3
Abstract:
During presentations users expect a keyboard mapping of competing
applications to proceed to the next animation effect or slide.
Furthermore, remote presentation control devices are mapped to
PageUp/PageDown keys. OOo Impress will conform to this conventions to
meet the expectation of the user and to support a presentation style
where the presenter can be away from her laptop.
