The reason for this was that while many many (many many MANY) pages of links to such Weyrs exist, all too often you join one to discover it died six months ago and no one else even remembers it exists. And of course there are the problems of those who ONLY have email access and relatively little web access. How are THEY meant to find a Weyr? So now, a solution exists. WeyrPlug is a list of people either looking for Weyrs or Pern resources and of those advertising them. No more dead Weyrs due to the fact that if someone is advertising a game it's fairly reasonable to assume it's alive. We are also using the features offered by YahooGroups to build a links directory - already this is becoming quite large, a database is being compiled of members who want to be contacted if certain types of games are looking for members (Eg: a Weyr in a certain Pass) and the Files directory is being used for various means ;-) All Pern resources are welcome, not just Weyrs - this IS a list of Pern lovers afterall. We only have a few rules - just set up to try and stop trouble before there is any possibility of it happening. 1) NO SPAMMING. People on this list do NOT wish to Get Rich Quick thankyou 2)No badmouthing anyone on any of your Weyrs no matter WHAT they have done there. For a start *I* don't wish to be involved in libel charges if they disagree. 3) No badmouthing other Weyrs. This is a nice friendly place 4)PLEASE tell your Weyrs about US. Thats a request not a rule. What goes around comes around, and the more people who know about this the more chance YOU have of being able to recruit some. 5) Only one ad per resource per week. If you have two Weyrs you may avertise them both once etc. But more than once a week is just unnessacary. 6) PLEASE don't just copy the ad. you sent LAST week. Write a NEW one! 7. No plaguarizing other peoples ads. 8. Discussion is fun. I like discussion. So any ads please put PLUG:- at the beginning. I'm not going to be reinforcing this rule, but it WILL make life easier for you as it means people specifically LOOKING for a Weyr will be more likely to see your ad. Seem simple enough? Good!
