WISPA will be conducting an audit of existing members with outstanding dues balances in the next few weeks. I am setting January 1st as the deadline for all members to be current. Starting today, I will be reviewing the past due accounts and member's mailing list subscribers and removing those who are delinquent more than 60 days.
According to the bylaws, Section 7.7 Termination of Membership. A membership shall be terminated upon the occurrence of any of the following events: C. Failure of a member to pay dues, fees, or assessments as set by the board within sixty (60) days after they become due and payable; Our fiscal year ends on December 31st and the billing department and myself have been charged with collecting or voiding delinquent accounts that exist in the books. Some of these outstanding accounts are for past members that have either sold or closed down their businesses and need to be cleaned up anyways. If cash flow is an issue, please get with the billing department to be put on a monthly, quarterly or semi-annual payment plan. WISPA is made up of its members and we all value each membership greatly. We want to work with each of you to preserve your membership and your support of our trade association. If you get an unsubscribe notice from the member's and wisp mailing lists, your account is delinquent. Sometimes mistakes are made or email addresses/employees change over time. While the delinquency may be unintentional, it could very well be caused by an outdated billing email address in our records, thus an individual wisp or vendor may not be receiving their membership dues invoice. Nothing about this audit is personal and it is merely being done to clean the billing database and parse the mailing lists of old accounts. There is currently $18,677.24 on the books for active members that are delinquent more than 60 days. There is an additional $8150 of cancelled accounts that need to be voided.
