Hi everyone,

It is with deep regret that we confirm the partial cancellation of Ansible
Contributor Summit Europe 2020, the physical/in-person element that was
planned for Sunday, March 29, in Gothenburg, Sweden. This is in response to
the global concern over the coronavirus outbreak and increased travel
restrictions.

This has not been a decision that we arrived at lightly. People are not
signing up as rapidly as we'd anticipated, and a number of participants
have reached out to share their travel concerns with us. We considered many
factors and possibilities, and decided to put the safety and well-being of
our community first.

Ansible Contributor Summit has always been in part a virtual event, to
allow for those who cannot be present in person to be able to participate
from anywhere in the world. This time, we will make it a fully virtual event.
We are also considering having local meetup groups host co-located events
on the same day. However, we’ll have to readjust the date and format, so
please stay tuned[0] for more updates on the virtual event.

To reiterate, the in-person event in Gothenburg on March 29 is cancelled,
and we will reschedule the virtual Ansible Contributor Summit.

We are aware that some of you have already made travel arrangements for the
event. If you have booked non-refundable travel which is not sponsored
(e.g. by company), we may be able to assist. If that’s the case, please
email me[1] with details.

If you have signed up for foss-north[2] on March 30-31 (Monday & Tuesday),
you are still welcome to attend as long as it is on-going. We will have a
booth and some local colleagues in attendance (including myself), and we’ll
keep the “hacking” room available. This may be repurposed for the virtual
Contributor Summit/Hackathon, however we are still working out the details.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused, and appreciate your
understanding and patience. Thanks for your continued contributions to
Ansible!

Best regards,
