I said in the release plan that we would accept new features, et al up to
the 5th. If you feel you could have a bootstrap.java in place and building
ant well enough before that, I am comfortable with that. Duncan's AntEaster
proposal was going down this path, so it may be worth a look. I can help if
you need it.

OTOH, if you think it need it would need some shaking down and may not be
stable by the 5th, I think it would be best to wait. After all, this will
not really be visible to ant users.

If we move to a bootstrap.java, then I would also like to look at moving
some of the logic that is in ant.bat/ant into Java code. I think that this
will require playing with classloaders <shudder/>
