Sorry about that, thought about it at the same time.I can do the cleanup on
1.4 branch to minimize the workload for merging. This should greatly
simplify the work even though it involves only import and modifiers..

I will not do any fix on if/else/loop to avoid headaches. :)

OK, so all patches and minor enhancements should be on 1.4 branch.
