True, now this just needs to go to the website - I'll take care of it. BTW, it should be possible to invoke Ant 1.4.1 with -Dos.name=WindowsNT to make <exec> work even on XP and JDK 1.4. If somebody could please verify this, I could add it as a workaround to the known problems section of the FAQ.
