You are modifying a jar file which is in your classpath. The JDK will have
loaded some info from the jar but when it goes to actually load the required
class from the jar, the jar has been munged by your build process.

This is why it works the first time - the jar does not exist and therefore is
not locked. 

Try to reorganize your build so that the jars you use in the build are not
modified by the build, particularly jars on the classpath.
