Ant 1.4 slow?

Title: Ant 1.4 slow?

I've just been experimenting with ant 1.4, and I
was rather surprised that a build that takes 2 minutes
or so with ant 1.3 takes 25 minutes with 1.4.
This is on a Windows 2000 platform.
Is there any know reason for this?
