yeah, you got me... ;-)  i'm on XP.

but -Dos.name="Windows XP" doesn't work...

too much new software at once i guess!
jikes couldn't handle JDK 1.4 assert yet 
so i tried to use the classic compiler
to discover that ant can't handle XP yet.

yikes, what a day!
