Thanks for the suggestions regarding <java fork="true"> but this does not work. I've tried the obvious, such as this recomendation. While it does fork the process, it still runs under ant and therefore does not return until I kill ant.
I'm starting to believe I'll have to go with cactus. But, it's just one more tool I have to install/configure/learn. Does anyone have an opinion regarding cactus ease of use?
