Though Ali Ahmeti, leader of the illegal National
Liberation Army, claims that the militants have
released all hostages, there are still 14 people
missing according to the data of the International Red

MACEDONIAN VILLAGES NORTH OF TETOVO BEING SHELLED BY
ALBANIAN TERRORISTS

BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 9, 2001. /RIA Novosti
correspondent Alexander Slabynko/ -- Two Macedonian
villages north of Tetovo are being shelled by Albanian
terrorists. Last night, they shelled the city of
Tetovo and the points where Macedonian security forces
were stationed. Macedonian units were forced to
retaliate.

According to the information which is coming from the
site, many Albanians are seen in Tetovo streets. They
are robbing Macedonians' homes despite the presence of
NATO forces and international monitors there.

Regular exchanges of fire took place last night near
the city of Kumanovo. It was observed that the
terrorists were rapidly advancing towards the northern
Macedonian border.

Terrorists continue to hold people hostage. A mission
of the International Red Cross and the Organisation
for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) is
trying to find places where Albanians keep captured
Macedonians, but it has failed to do so so far. Though
Ali Ahmeti, leader of the illegal National Liberation
Army, claims that the militants have released all
hostages, there are still 14 people missing according
to the data of the International Red Cross.
