In a book attacking "extremism" entitled "Left, Right: the March of Political Extremism in Britain", (published in 1980 or 1981) the right-wing Labourite John Tomlinson (now an MEP) called the SPGB (the main WSM organisation) "democratic" and "moderate". What he really meant was that they were a sterile sect constituting no threat to the established order whatsoever.
