Ananova : Bin Laden calls for attacks on US economy ============================= Osama bin Laden praised the September 11 terror strikes and urged further attacks on the American economy in a 33-minute videotape. Bin Laden, looking pale and gaunt, occasionally smiled as he spoke and, though clearly thinner than in past tapes, his voice was strong and clear. "It is important to concentrate on the destruction of the American economy," he said in the Arabic-language tape shown on the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera news channel. "With a destroyed economy, the United States will be too busy with its domestic affairs to bother with Islamic fighters. "Those who carried out the attacks on New York and Washington were only 19 secondary school students, may God accept them, who shook America, struck the American economy in the heart and hit the biggest military force at its heart with God's help," he said. "They used the enemy's planes and studied at enemy schools without the need for training camps," bin Laden said of the hijackers. "But God helped them and taught this cruel lesson to those arrogant people." In the videotape, bin Laden said it was "inconceivable" his holy warriors would kill innocent people, but in the past he has been seen in tapes saying no Americans are innocent. Bin Laden does not claim responsibility for the attacks, but he praises them and defends what even he calls terror against the United States. "Our terrorism is against America. Our terrorism is a blessed terrorism to prevent the unjust person from committing injustice and to stop American support for Israel, which kills our sons," he said. It was not clear where the latest tape from bin Laden - which the United States has dismissed as "propaganda" - was made.
