UNMIBH is providing support for an innovative new two-year Masters
      programme beginning in February 2002 that brings together 
Universities
               in Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Yugoslavia, the UN 
spokesman
               in Sarajevo announced Thursday (27 December).
Along with experts from other international organizations, UNMIBH
               specialists will be among lecturers at the University of 
Sarajevo,
               which is offering an internationally recognized Masters 
degree in
               State Management and Humanitarian Affairs.
The multi-cultural and multidisciplinary academic programme is
               the first such post war collaboration between academic 
institutions
               in BiH and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
The course is open to graduates from any faculty. They must be
               under 35 years of age and study will be in the English 
language.
               Fifty students will be accepted in Belgrade and 50 in 
Sarajevo.
               Out of these, a total of 40 students will complete the 
course at
               La Sapienza University in Italy in 2003.
Non-BiH citizens, such as staff members from the International
               Community, are also welcome to enroll.
Assistance is available to BiH students from outside Sarajevo.
The course is largely funded by the Government of Italy.
Registration closes on 21 January 2002 and classes are expected
               to start in February.
