As the Communist Party of Turkey is claiming for months, the government is demanding a price from Washington to participate to a possible military aggression against Iraq. A 5 billion dollar cut in Turkey's dept coming from huge arms trade with US, the removal of restrictions on new weapon systems, the handover of some banks to US capital, the project for a "safe zone" onbehalf of Turkey against the so called Kurdish threat and a big share in the reconstruction of Afghanistan and in future Iraq is on the bargaining table. What the Turkish government is also putting on the table is the honour and lives of our people. It is very obvious that Republic of Turkey, after many de facto violations, is openly rejecting some principles in international relations without any hesitation; not to interfere other countries internal affairs, to respect borders and territorial integrity. Bulent Ecevit is only a single actor of this shameful attitude. All who are behind this existing system are to be responsible for this vicious proposal. Imperialism consumed all the moral values. Communist Party of Turkey, getting its strength from the working classes will resist to such immoral act. The bargain on participating a war against Iraq once again shows the "coward" face of militarism. The communists will do the courageous and honoured work, they will oppose the imperialist war. It is medicine and food what Iraqi people need; not bullets or bombs. Communist Party of Turkey declares that, whoever claims that a military aggression against Iraq will help Turkish people in terms of "life standarts" and "security" is a liar, a murderer and even an erratic person. The working people of Turkey will not leave this country to liars, murderers or erratic parasites.
