South Korea opens hospital for anti-terror coalition
in Kyrgyzstan

-In addition to South Korea, the troops are from the
United States, France, Denmark, Spain and Australia.

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan - South Korea opened a 60-bed
military hospital Saturday at the anti-terrorist
coalition's base in Kyrgyzstan.
The dlrs 5 million hospital is to serve the 1,500
coalition troops stationed at the Manas air base. The
issue of whether the hospital would also treat local
residents was still under discussion, officials said.
The hospital has a Korean staff of 89, including nine
doctors and eight nurses.
The troops based at Manas provide support for military
and humanitarian operations in nearby Afghanistan. In
addition to South Korea, the troops are from the
United States, France, Denmark, Spain and Australia.
