The meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs focused on issues of expansion of cooperation between Uzbekistan and NATO, future projects and programmes, as well as other issues of mutual interest. The sides expressed satisfaction with successful cooperation between Uzbekistan and NATO, in particular, cooperation in fighting international terrorism, organised crime, religious extremism and drug trafficking. (Interfax) - French troops transferred more than $200,000 worth of equipment to the Kyrgyz Defense Ministry on Tuesday. The machines belonged to the French Air Force contingent that was deployed to the Manas airport as part of the anti-terrorist coalition, the Kyrgyz Defense Ministry reported. In early October, troops from the Netherlands, Norway and Denmark replaced the French contingent. The Kyrgyz army received 13 UAZ and Zhiguli vehicles, as well as refrigerators and TV sets, the ministry said. The property will be shipped to far-flung locations where Kyrgyz units are deployed. Furthermore, France will donate aviation control and surveillance equipment to Kyrgyzstan before the end of the year, the ministry noted.
