Agreed upon by the Nato leadership, CIS, central Asian and Azov sea basin nations will attend the session as observer. For the first time, Baku will host the final fall session and an emergency response workshop of the Nato General Committee for Emergency Situations over September 8-12, accordint to Assa Irada report. Agreed upon by the Nato leadership, CIS, central Asian and Azov sea basin nations will attend the session as observer. Representatives of North African countries are also expected to attend the undertaking, though they have not joined the Nato cooperation program. In his interview to AssA-Irada, Cavad Qasimov, the chief of the Defense Ministry civil defense department, said the program of undertakings had already been defined during meetings with Nato officials in Baku in January. With unspecified host of the official opening ceremony of the session, working groups will meet at the Grand Europe and Hyatt Regency hotels. Under the program, the committee’s final conference will last for one day, while workshops of working groups two days will go on for a couple of days. Magnificent Nato exercises will conclude the undertakings in Baku. The some 1,000-personnel rescue regiment of the Azerbaijani civil defense department will take part in the exercises. The exercises are planned to be carried out in one of the large industrial enterprises located in Xatai, Nizami or Narimanov districts of Baku, where how to response to fires in industrial facilities and accidents arising from natural catastrophes will be demonstrated in practice.
