"TOTAL PROPAGANDA" OF FORCE IN USA, RUSSIAN EXPERT
BELIEVES.

MOSCOW, March 11, 2003. /from a RIA Novosti
corespondent/. - The USA has launched "a total
propaganda" of war against Iraq, Former Russian
Ambassador to Israel Alexander Bovin said at a press
conference in RIA Novosti after his recent visit to
the US.

If a war on Iraq is unleashed, there will be a wave of
the anti-Americanism sentiment in the world, the signs
of which are already obvious. Americans believe that
they are the smartest ones and don't feel uneasy about
their military plans against Iraq which are negatively
assessed by the world, Bovin said. He recalled that
even George Bush's Methodist church opposes a war in
Iraq.

He pointed to the inadmissibility of letting one
country to be a judge and an executor.

IRAN FULLY BACKS RUSSIA'S STANCE TOWARDS IRAQI ISSUE

-"[T]he main task now is to avert war in Iraq, it is
even more important because the USA pursuing
[a]unipolarity policy is eager to wage it."

TEHRAN, March 11th, 2003. /From RIA Novosti
correspondent Pyotr Goncharov and Nikolai Terekhov/. -
Iran fully backs Russia's stance towards the Iraqi
issue, Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi said
after his Tuesday meeting with his Russian counterpart
Igor Ivanov.

According to the Iranian Foreign Minister, "the main
task now is to avert war in Iraq, it is even more
important because the USA pursuing unipolarity policy
is eager to wage it," Mr. Kharrazi said. Thus, Kamal
Kharrazi highly appreciates Russia's efforts to settle
the Iraqi issue through political channels.

During their negotiations in Tehran, the Russian
Foreign Minister together with his Iranian counterpart
discussed bilateral co-operation between the countries
in political, economic as well as scientific and
technical fields.

The Iranian Foreign Minister stressed high-level
Russian-Iranian relations and expressed the hope that
the ties between Russia and Iran would develop and
become closer in the future.

When commenting on the Caspian issue, Mr. Kharrazi
pointed out that "it is of topical interest for all
Caspian states. However, one must not make hasty
steps." According to the Iranian Foreign Minister,
"all Caspian states should be patient and it is
necessary to take their interests into account." "Both
Russia and Iran should help each other to settle the
issue to use the Caspian resources in a peaceful way,"
Kamal Kharrazi said.

GENNADY SELEZNEV: IRAQ IS READY FOR THE WORST

MINSK, March 11th, 2003. /From RIA Novosti
correspondents Olesya Luchaninova and Vera Pollo/. -
Speaker of the Lower Chamber of the Russian Parliament
(the State Duma) Gennady Seleznev revealed the main
idea of the Russian President's address to Saddam
Hussein on his arrival in Minsk on Tuesday. According
to him, Russia will not back any resolution that will
allow the USA and Great Britain to invade Iraq.

Gennady Seleznev describes the outcome of his visit to
Baghdad as fruitful. According to him, he conducted
three-hour talks with Saddam Hussein. "We discussed
the Iraqi issue and the situation in the Middle East,"
Mr. Seleznev said.

"Iraq confirmed its wish to fulfil all conditions
envisaged by the UN Security Council resolution 1441
on Iraq," the Speaker stressed.

Gennady Seleznev pointed out that Russia is against
new UN Security Council resolutions on Iraq. "If
necessary Russia will veto them," he said.

According to the Russian Speaker, Saddam Hussein said
that in case of aggression Iraq will rebuff and "the
Americans will have it more than enough." Mr. Seleznev
believes that Baghdad is ready for the worst. "That is
why the USA must consider everything thoroughly,
otherwise peace and order will be disrupted, the
international law will be violated and the jungle law
will come into force. Then the USA may wish to crack
down on somebody else, for instance Syria or Iran,"
Gennady Seleznev pointed out.
