Interfax-Ukraine December 3, 2009 NATO Foreign Ministers satisfied with implementation of Annual National Programme by Ukraine Foreign Affairs Ministers of NATO member-states are satisfied with the implementation of the National Annual Programme by Kyiv. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Petro Poroshenko said this at a press conference on the results of a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission in Brussels, on December 3. "I was pleased to state the positive assessment of the implementation of the national programme for 2009," he told reporters in Brussels on Thursday. All the foreign ministers of the NATO member-states, who were present at the meeting, were positive about Ukraine's participation in the alliance's missions and operations, Poroshenko said. The Ukrainian foreign minister showed a bulky document - the draft annual national programme for 2010 and listed certain steps envisaged in the document. At the same time, the meeting participants criticized lack of funds for the Ukrainian army's financing and improper reforms of security and defense sectors, Poroshenko said. When asked to name the timeframes for Ukraine to ultimately acquire NATO membership, he said it all depends only on Ukraine. "The ball is not on NATO's side of the field, the decisions, which need to be passed are not in the offices in Brussels, Washington or any other states. The decisions lie not even in Kyiv alone, but in Ukraine at large.
