to international peacekeeping operations.

Baku: Prime Minister Vlad Filat has had a meeting with US Secretary of State
Hillary Clinton in Washington, APA reports citing the US government’s press
service.

The US government and the Moldovan Republic signed a joint statement on the
intensification of bilateral cooperation between the two countries. The
governments of the United States and the Republic of Moldova have agreed to
intensify dialogue across the spectrum of shared interests.

The United States welcomes the intent of the Moldovan government to further
develop its reform agenda and reaffirms its continued support for Moldova’s
independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally
recognized borders. Both nations renew their support for the resumption of
formal “5+2” negotiations and a final settlement of the TransDnestrian dispute.
In this regard, the United States supports the expansion of confidence and
security-building measures. The United States also welcomes the Moldovan
government’s intent to contribute to international peacekeeping operations.

Hillary Clinton also said that the USA speaks in favour of settling the
TransDnestrian conflict in the five-plus-two format by observing Moldova’s
territorial integrity and sovereignty.
