Xinhua News Agency January 25, 2010 NATO soldier killed in N Afghanistan KABUL: A soldier of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) was killed in Afghanistan's relatively peaceful northern region on Monday, a press release of the alliance said. "An ISAF service member died in an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) strike in northern Afghanistan today," the press release added. However, it did not mention the exact place of the incident and nationality of the victim, saying "it is the ISAF policy to refer identification procedures for casualties to the relevant national authorities." This is the sixth NATO soldier that has been killed in Afghanistan over the past one week.
