Thanks, this is very helpful - we are using Tcl 8.3.2.  I'll look into
updating to 8.4.

So...does anyone know if that's all that is necessary, or are updates needed
for AOLserver itself as well?

I don't know about AOLServer, but Tcl did not fully support >2GB files
until 8.4.  8.4 does work with 3.4.2, but you might still be using an
earlier version.
