gcc: unrecognized option `-rpath' when compiling any of the modules (standard, proxy, php3). It appears that the LDFLAGS_SHLIB macro incorrectly specifies : -rpath /usr/local/pgsql/lib Removing this the macro in each makefile appears to solve the problem. Here is my Apache config : ./configure \ --sysconfdir=/usr/local/apache/conf \ --datadir=/usr/local/apache \ --sbindir=/usr/local/apache/sbin \ --localstatedir=/var \ --logfiledir=/var/log/httpd \ --activate-module=src/modules/php3/libphp3.a --enable-shared=php3 \ --enable-module=proxy \ --enable-module=rewrite \ --enable-module=status \ --enable-module=info \ --enable-shared=max \ $1 Heres my PHP config : ./configure \ --with-shared-apache=../apache_1.3.9 \ --with-pgsql=/usr/local/pgsql \ --with-gdbm \ --with-ndbm \ --with-zlib=/usr/local \ --enable-debug=no \ --enable-track-vars=yes \ --enable-bcmath=yes My PostgreSQL config is : ./configure --without-CXX >How-To-Repeat: Build PHP with PostgreSQL and then Apache. >Fix: A quick workaround is to modify the Makefiles in question by hand : Change : LDFLAGS_SHLIB= -rpath /usr/local/pgsql/lib -shared to : LDFLAGS_SHLIB= -shared Then recompile.
