Synopsis: Apache process hangs, and parent will not die. State-Changed-From-To: open-feedback State-Changed-By: marc State-Changed-When: Thu Nov 18 12:28:42 PST 1999 State-Changed-Why: Try running an older, more stable kernel. We have had lots of reports of similar things from people, with the common factor being that thay are using 2.2.13 or something similar. There may well be some problem in the kernel you are running that causes this. If you have to restart the machine (and I presume you mean reboot) to fix it, then there is no way that this can be entirely an Apache problem.
