Dear sir,
I have downloaded the apache 1.3.4 version for a unix machine. I did not change any of the directory structures and I just made the required changes to the .conf file changing it to my machine. I am able to just ping the serer from my browser and the error log file is showing the following message httpd: [Thu Feb 18 16:05:20 1999] [alert] (22)Invalid argument: setgid: unable to set group id to Group 4294967295 httpd: [Thu Feb 18 16:05:20 1999] [notice] Apache/1.3.4 (Unix) configured -- resuming normal operations httpd: [Thu Feb 18 16:05:20 1999] [alert] Child 7292 returned a Fatal error... Apache is exiting! httpd: [Thu Feb 18 16:05:20 1999] [alert] (22)Invalid argument: setgid: unable to set group id to Group 4294967295 Can u help me with what could be the problem and on emore thing I did not use the -h option for untaring the file.
