I believe that Jan may have sent the email to the PMC list, of which the Apache 
Attic is a part of.
Maybe this is the case here?

What has the Attic to do with e-mails to apachecon-discuss?

Looks like there may be a problem with the mailing list config.
However the two subsequent messages from jan i to apachecon-discuss look OK.
