in this example i see that i've already casted the user_id-value with Number(..), so it's safe. another thing in this example is: the mysql connection is established when starting ape. the default timeout for this connection in mysql is 3 hours or something, so for production environment you better also add a interval function for keep this connection alive. (like sending an easy sql command every hour)
