Dear Apertiumers:

a month ago I resigned as Apertium president, and, as a result, a new election process has started. We will elect a new project management committee (PMC) and a new president.

Elections are regulated by our current by-laws [1]. The calendar is also available [2]. An election board has been assembled (Sergio Ortiz, Pankaj Sharma, Akshay Minocha, + Xavi Ivars as backup); the election board may be reached through the address [email protected]. The first step in the election is to make sure we have an up-to-date census, which will be made available on September 22.

The current census is available in [2].

Any of you who are Apertium committers (i.e., have a SourceForge username which is assigned to SourceForge project Apertium) should add themselves to the census if they want to participate in the election, either as voters or as candidates. Please write to [email protected] with your full name and SourceForge username.

Let me thank again the volunteers in the Election Board for helping Apertium run this election.

All the best

Mikel
