For years we've been told they are a private corp not responsible to the US. Congress signed off on $770B only." Now we find out that we "bought" $20 B of preferred stock in The Rockefeller Family's CitiGroup which has a market value of $20.5. Pardon me, but that sounds like we paid for 97.5% of the corp but the common stock share holders retain control with 2.5%. But to be fair, our lustrous US Treasurer Paulson, chosen by Bush and Obama's announced choice to retain, also assumed an addition quarter of a trillion in CitiGroups troubled assets! All this with no congressional involvement. That's like buying a car worth $205 for $200, letting the other guy keep it---and then buying $2,500 for auto insurance coverage. And may I add, justice would be served if the perps were lined up facing a firing squad. But since that won't happen, plz tell me again why we shouldn't dissolve this rotten govt.
