Hi all,

In the framework of GnpAnnot ( http://www.gnpannot.org/ ) Project (project funded by INRA, CIRAD and the French National Research Agency), we have setup a manual annotation system relying on a roundtrip between Apollo, chado, Gbrowse. Apollo is directly connected to Chado using the “pure JDBC" direct communication protocol. This system has been set up for four genome community annotators: the International Aphid Genome Consortium, the International Botrytis- Sclerotinia genome project consortium, the Franco-Italian Tuber genome project and the International Vitis genome consortium. We are currently setting up new instance of the system in the framework of the Franco-Australian Leptosphaeria maculans genome project.

We (TAIR) also use Apollo heavily for our genome annotation efforts, despite the fact that our version has been branched (by us) and is significantly behind the main code base.

Hi Daniel,

We did an informal survey of the user base about a year ago and to
add Scott's list:

* Howard Hughes Medical Institute SEA
* UGA
* Nasonia
* VectorBase
* Ensembl GeneBuild
* Hamilton College

There are some other groups that have shown interest in starting to
use Apollo, although I'm not sure whether or not they have done so.

Cheers,
Ed

Hi Daniel,

At a GMOD meeting a few years ago, the participants came up with a list of groups that we knew of that were using Apollo with Chado (there are probably other users, but we weren't interested in the for that list). The ones we
came up with are here:

Hi Daniel,

As far as I know, there is not a list of Apollo users anywhere.
People don't have to register to download and use it. Creating a list of GMOD users and what components they use is on my todo list, but I
don't know when I'll get to it.

In the meantime, the best way to find out who is using it, may be to
look at the archives for this list. Go to
http://mail.fruitfly.org/mailman/private/apollo/.  You'll need your
email address and list password (which was mailed to you when you
joined the list.).

Hello,

I`m quite new here, and a would like to know who is using the Apollo now?

I`m looking for a web system to run a medium genome project. I hope to process the pipeline: calling sequences, cleaning the vector, clustering
and
annotation.

Thanks for all,
