Hi Hope,

Are you using the standard style/tiers file? I noticed that the
error message points to the tiers file in your .apollo directory,
so your copy might be modified somehow. If you could forward me
your style/tiers file and the starting data I can try to recreate
the issue and see what's going on. Also if you could provide the
exact steps you did to cause this error, it would make recreating
this issue much easier.

On another note, you probably want to save it as GAME XML, rather
than Chado XML, if possible. The Chado XML implementation isn't
nearly as robust as the GAME XML one.

Cheers,
Ed

Hello -
I am attempting to add a feature, ncRNA1, to a genome. When I close
and reopen my file, I get the following error:

Annotation ncRNA1 is one-level, but type gene does not have
'number-of-levels:1' in tiers file /home/user/.apollo/fly.tiers.
Either the data is buggy or your tiers file is out of date.

If I click through, my file opens but ncRNA1 is missing. I
reinstalled Apollo yesterday with the current release, so presumably
my tiers file is now okay. My data is a little funny in that I
started with a genbank file, but was unable to save features as gb(it
just never finished saving). I was able to save as a chado xml file.
It seemed initially to be writing new features to the chado file, but
now I am getting this error. What does it mean & how do I fix it?

It may matter that I am running the unix release, with ubuntu ; I
believe I was able to open my chado file with the ncRNA1 annotation
intact using an older (circa last August) release on a windows
platform. (I'll have to double check that when I am at a windows
machine again.)

Thanks,
Hope.
