That's why we have package dependencies - they are easier to change than 
finger macros ;-)

BTW: the iproute2 package is required by at least NetworkManager and 
Postfix, so I'd guess most openSUSE users have it installed already.
(Note that I did _not_ say they are _using_  ss  already ;-)
