John gave the best answer on how to tell if it's enhanced. To answer your
other question, we'd need to know what's in the machine. Pop the lid and
see if there's any boards inside. The with the keyboard facing you, the
slots are numbered 1-7, left to right.

Personally, I use my //e (3 meg of ram) for word processing, database and
spreadsheet work (AppleWorks 5.1). My ISP, FoxValley Internet offers
national dialup into a shell account, which being text, allows me with a
serial card and modem to do email, surf the web, chat, do file transfers
and other sundry internet functions, Yes, it's all text-based with no
fancy graphics or colors, but I can do 98% of what I need to do in text,
and the few times I need to view graphics (such as family pictures online)
I switch to an old PowerBook and view that way. Using AppleWorks I can do
a variety of functions from backing up my hard drive (A CompactFlash for
Apple II card - http://spudboy.dreher.net/CFforAppleII - he doesn't have
many left!) on to my SCSI zip drive, to a simple word count.

I'm not much of a game person, but I do have a few I like to play, such as
solitaire and Pyramid solitaire.

BTW--something I know is unique: I'm the Township Clerk for my Township.
I use Deja ][, Mark Munz' application for running AppleWorks 5.1 on my
Powerbook 520c and 5300c to take the Township meeting minutes. I go home,
transfer the file to my //e, and finish them up. I then print them to my
laserprinter. I've a feeling that I'm the only Clerk in the State of IL
who proudly uses AppleWorks for governmental records. :)

Later.................Howard
