I agree that speed will definitely take a hit on a HD plugged into the
//c (or +).  I remember this discussion when Chinook came out with their
//c HD.  The drive has to slow down to disk drive speed to work with the
drive port, even tho the port (IIRC) was considered a smartport.  This
meant no speed advantage, but the user at least had a much bigger disk
drive to work with.  :)
