I know I have an original //c (ID=255), and I have heard about the serial port
problems. What is that problem about exactly? I haven't had any problem with
serial communications. I only have found that my //c can't talk to *recent* PCs
(Pentium II or newer) at baud rates higher than 300 bps (with earlier PCs, as my
Pentium 75, it can do all the way to 19200). I don't think the problem is
processor speed-related, because even the Pentium 75 is several hundreds faster
than the 1 Mhz 65C02 of the //c. Is that related to the supposed bug of the
original //c? Is there an easy way of fixing it (perhaps replacing the ROMs with
a newer ones)? Will the ROM update alone also allow me to use a 3.5" drive?
