You need the power supply to use this critter. It has a 6502 processor. I believe there is a website dedicated to 6502 programming on the Apple II and other platforms (and it is 6502.org). If you need more Apple II specific details, just say so and I will contact you. It can be hooked up to a TV or monochrome monitor via composite. There is a port for an RGB monitor (IIRC), but you need an adapter. Apple doesn't offer anything suitable from their website (there are a few things for the Apple II, but you need a 3.5" drive). > - Mac LC 475 (again, no cables or a power cord/supply) It uses the same power cord as a PC. It has a 68040 processor, sans FPU. At this stage, you are using high level langauges rather than assembler. Apple offers MPW and the System Software from their website, plus other goodies (plenty of which are directed towards developers). Go for an LC/PDS ethernet card and use it as an AppleTalk server for ... If you have further questions, contact me off list because this is not the place. > - Mac Plus 1024 (everything - but need SCSI Ether adapter & 3 > more megs, to make it usefull) Because SCSI<->Ethernet bridges are way over rated, and you can network (in a nice and friendly way) over the serial (or LocalTalk in Mac-lingo, they are actually RS-422 anyhow). It has a 68000. At this stage, you are using assembler or high level languages. Most development platforms require a 680x0 where x != 0 and System 7.x or higher (if memory serves me correctly). That means that the version of MPW on Apple's website won't work here, though it should be easy to find a free assembler. If you have further questions, contact me off list because this is not the place. Better yet, if you want to run System 6 on this critter, join the System 6 list and ask there (because I hang around on that list too, and there are bound to be more people with the know-how). > If anyone has any software Ask around. For the Macs, you may have luck on other mailing lists (the System 6 one is a good one). There is AppleFritter and the 68k MLA forums. There is a tonne of shareware and freeware, and a lot of people have taken the time to separate them according to the version of the OS. For the Apple II, you can also ask on comp.sys.apple2 (usenet). There is lots of freely distributable software, a lot of reclassified software (eg. the S-C assemblers), and a lot of "abandonware" if that is your thing.
