These are the same books I listed last week. My eBay account was
hijacked soon after I listed them. I regained control within a day,
but eBay cancelled all my active auctions.
Hijacked? How does that happen? I had a bid on "Beneath Apple
ProDOS" and
was wondering what happened.
I'm not entirely sure. I Saturday morning I got an 'eBay Change Email
Notice'. Next there was a 'Secret question activated' (i.e. the secret
question was changed), then a 'Change password confirmation' notice.
But of course I didn't see the latter two, since the email address for
my account had already been changed.
I don't know how he got into my account in the first place. I know not
to fall for any of the numerous ebay phishing emails I receive.
A couple years ago I won an ebay auction for a G4 Mac. The seller made
some odd requests. I investigated and found that the seller's account
had been hijacked. Had I sent the money, I would have seen neither the
Mac not the money again.
