Hey Bill,
I am curious about the "MicroDrive IDE Controller" you guys are
offering on GSE-Reactive.
On the page that tells about the hardware, it says "However, it is
possible to use some older IDE Hard Drives." Why only "some" and
"older"? What kinds of IDE drives will work, and what ones won't? And
why not?
I ask because I have a plethora of IDE hard drives from my PC tinkering
days. Now that I use mainly Macs with SCSI buses I don't have a use
for these valuable storage devices. The newer Macs I have that do have
IDE support are already maxed out with large IDE drives.
I already have a SCSI card in my IIgs with a hard drive attached to it,
but it would be wonderful to connect a 5GB IDE drive as well. The fact
that this card supports compact flash cards is just icing on the cake,
to me.
Thanks for any info you can provide.
