We absolutely *do* wish to improve the GTK2 frontend, but so far nobody volunteered for helping us out. Currently neither me nor Christian have the time to do it ourselves. The current GTK2 frontend is very minimal, but it already supports the outbox (including sending the outbox) and provides all callbacks needed to let AqBanking and plugins communicate via GTK2 with the user. What we need is e.g. a "new user" wizard like the one we already have for QT... But that is not a trivial task, because the author of such a wizard would need quite a bit of HBCI knowledge... Gnucash is not much of help here, because even though it is a GTK2 application it uses its own implementations for the interaction callbacks... Grisbi is the next promising candidate to use the GTK2 frontend, and in fact there is some movement at grisbi's... So the GTK2 frontend is not abandoned, and we love to see it improve...
