YES !.
I had TEMP=I:\TEMP in my environment, but I initialized my install by
loading A1.62 to ramdisk and then WIPING the disk. This WIPED the dir.
I re-installed A1.65 but this time I re-created the TEMP dir first and
I did NOT get the blank gray screen.
I think it is a good idea to include a test for temp in the install.
But some users will have ARACHNETEMP instead of TEMP so setup.bat
should SET TEMP=%ARACHNETEMP% if it exists but complain if neither
exist.
The MORE excellent part is that this time I once again forgot to switch to
VGA and setup dumped me to DOS with the message: "Cannot initialize video".

This time I got to see stuff in setup that I never saw before:
First, the little dialog thing that suggests:
Increase files to 50 ?
Add Arachne dir to autoexec ?
Update quik start ? has GARBAGE like this in the textarea: *4$y!
And, this screen and all following, will not let me use the cursor keys.
TAB does work tho.
I let it auto detect my modem (COM 4 - nothing on COM3) and it WORKED !
I already mentioned that the text on modem install has some base #s
and IRQs wrong.
